For the next few days I will be shutting down the daily newsletter so I can upgrade the newsletter system. This will hopefully fix users being able to change there subscriptions and improve the look and performance of the newsletter.

The Day the World Stop

So last night I get home and I'm working on the site you know trying to tweak things here and there and then I start to notice that for the first day of the month my bandwidth usage has already peak more than normal. And the amount of visitors on the site almost tripled for that time of day. Strange Traffic

Hmm some strange stuff going on here at MJM. Just tonight our traffic has jump almost 500%. I'm not sure if maybe we were linked on a popular site and the traffic is flowing over here or someone is trying to hack us. Unsubscribing

I've had a few users that wanted to know how to unsubscribe. It appears that the unsubscribe feature is not working. So if you not wanting to get the daily email please email me mike@myjokemail.com and I'll get you removed from the system.

I am working on an all new list system to replace this one and hope to have it in place in the next few days.

Well I’ve made a few changes that I’m hoping will improve the delivery of the newsletter to common email systems like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL. Now to give it a few days and see how it works. I’m thinking not everyone that was on the old list got the last email notification about needing to sign up for the site to get on the new list. I've cleaned up the member list and got rid of a bunch of accounts that were never logged in or activated. So hopefully the emails will go out a little faster.

I'm going to see about adding more content to the daily mailing today and fixing the layout.

Well yesterdays email went out without any major problems only thing is I started to send it at 11AM and it didn’t complete till sometime around 11PM and it should go a little faster then that. Good Monday everyone how was your weekend? Mine sucked ass I had swap out a server for this law firm I do work for on the side. And well it didn't go as smooth as I thought it would have been.

Saturday I got there about 10 in the morning and started to work thinking that I would be done in about 4hrs. I didn't end up leave there till last night about 9 and then showed up there this morning at 8 to make sure everything was working for them.

I'm getting closer to having the MJM server send out daily emails of the newest jokes, pictures, videos and more from MJM. I've been testing it out on my self and they seem to work fine there are some design changes that will need to be made to pretty it up but for the most part I think its pretty cool.

I've updated the site with a new look and features. Some of them are not all the way done but I think our biggest is the Arcade. So I've been doing a lot of work on the site lately. As most of you that have checked it out could see. One of the big changes is in the joke section and how the layout is. Another is I've added the ability to comment on almost anything on the site. So make sure you leave a little feed back to your fellow MJMer's that submit jokes and pictures for your entertainment.
